About

I haven't provided the names of any special cases I've handled but there have been many, over the years. I handled more than 8000 cases during the years I was on the Bench as a Superior Court Judge (appointed in 1988 by Governor George Deukmajian) and have handled another 4000 or so as a Mediator and Arbitrator...which gives me a total of over 12,000 cases heard.

The cases have ranged from such things as a broken spring on a bus seat allegedly causing personal injuries to major physical and emotional trauma (such as child molestation, paraplegic and quadriplegic injuries, auto, boat and plane crashes, industrial machinery accidents) as well as contract disputes involving real estate, commercial business enterprises, the buying and selling of practically anything and a variety of miscellaneous personal and public issues.

I bring to the table the personal experience of a trial attorney (23 years, more than 75 jury trials, member of ABOTA), a skier, commercial airplane pilot (over 2000 hours in single and multi-engine planes, instrument rating), scuba certified diver, motorcycle rider (to Alaska and back, around the USA), welder, author/writer, law school teacher (US and Uruguay), woodworker, parachutist, hunter (on 3 continents) and fisherman, family-therapist intern (over 1500 hours) and of course the lifetime experiences of a husband, father and grandfather. I was admitted to the practice of law in 1965, hold a commercial pilots license with instrument rating, have a Masters in Counseling Psychology (2006) and am a Minister of the Universal Life Church. I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats and believe that America is really great.
